 Week 1 - Week 7

INSTRUCTIONS

Week 1

This is our first class and long story short the teacher asked us to form a group and after some walking around the class and asking we finally able to form a group and we exchange numbers. Right off the bat we started discussing about what kind of culture stuff that we want to make.

We decided to make one of Chinese traditional crafts which is a Lacquer Craft which basically a patterned daily items.

Week 2

Diving further deep into the topic itself, it seems that we have to do a specific technique called "Hydro Dipping" essentially this is just dipping the item into a container that is fill with water and pour paint on top of it so when we dip it in, the paint will stick to the item and it will create some sort of pattern according to what paint we chose.

This is my proposal for the Lacquer Craft that we are making, there is a coin pouch, a medium sized bag and a purse.

Not forgetting about the presentation slide that we made to show the teacher and get his approval, the presentation contains our rationale, sketches and some genera information regarding the chosen topic.

Week 3-5

Throughout this week we got to work and our team had already prepare the things that is needed for the Lacquer Craft (Fans, Canvas Bag, big container, paints) all we did is just record ourselves dipping the things into the container and then let it dry off. After all that we record some more videos including our discussions and some videos to post on Tik Tok.

Week 6-7

Final week calls for final thoughts and this time apparently i need to make a bunch of short videos to post on Tik Tok (The teacher said Tik Tok is a platform full of ideas and creativity)

As per the requirements of the video that the teacher sent us, we need to post a minimum of 5 videos with some catchy captions and hashtags explaining our goals, reflections, and the general content about our topic.

I have created a playlist so that it would be easy for the viewer to catch on and watch my contents in order

REFLECTIONS

This module taught me more about cultures that some of them i never heard of (like my current topic) and furthermore, this module also taught me that everyday stuffs that we found practically anywhere whether it'd be on the streets or our daily items have their own unique designs and that is also why the teacher picked the theme "Everyday Design" to enhance our understandings.

Turns out forming a group with strangers is not easy especially if they can only speak one language, we can complete this module just because there are some of them that can speak English which is the basic requirements in order to easily communicate with others.

Doing this project made me realize that actually teaming up is fun and it is satisfying when we conquer the challenges that we faced, and giving me some new light on Chinese culture (to be honest idk anything about this culture until today) even though there are language barriers but its still a fun experience and it made me tingle.
