Task 3 DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN
Recap: In this task we were asked to choose one of the ideas that we made from task 2 and bring it to life in this current task, developing it through color exploration, composition, typeface, and with design principles in mind.
Original (definitely the best and classic art)
The chosen idea
When I was thinking
about how I am going to make this painting even more meaningful despite it’s
already beautiful and meaningful causes me to a deep dilemma and stuck on that
thought for days, there are some ideas that I came up with but it just won’t suit
in with the art as it is already perfect itself. After some more time and some
advices from my friends I decided to go with one of my idea which is to add
some scattering dandelions and shaping them into a silhouette of a wing to the
artist’s wife, this is to emphasize the angelic features that Madam Monet
already have. Not only that I also changed the background from a shining afternoon
into a calm and warm sunset to further emphasize the moment of the wife and
child of the artist. Why didn’t I draw the faces? Well it is because of the
background itself, since Madam Monet wore a some sort of veil and the child
wore a hat so it will be natural if the artist could not see the face clearly
as the shades covers the face. Such blissful and beautiful moment of a family
of three.
Feedback
The teacher said that i should make the sketch on my own which basically means that i have to re-draw the whole painting as it was un-original and took out the meaning of the painting. The teacher was also very helpful and replied to my questions despite being on the weekend (Applause)
Last week when i was consulting with the lecturer, he said that the gradation is good enough but the grey made it looked filthy and he said to change it into a graphic kind of color so, i changed it into pure sunset.
